The European Mobile Media Association (EMMA) was founded in Germany in 2000, the main aim was to build a well structured fair and easily accessible competition format for all kinds of car audio competitor’s and enthusiasts. From the novices just venturing into the world of car audio right through the spectrum up to the out of this world systems and installs from the professionals and manufacturers in the industry.

DB Drag -

dBDrag UK is coming to Modified Nationals and ANYONE can enter!

dBDrag UK offers two formats of competition:

dBDrag Racing
This is where it all started, the competition is a head to head with 30 seconds to get the maximum SPL out of your system. You can either take part in the competition or simply have your system tested to see just how loud it will go. There are a number of classes, so you don’t have to worry about your car fitting in, everything is welcome!

Bass Race
This is an extremely fun competition format with a class for every system. The playing field in this class is so level that 1st timers have beaten world class competitors, it’s all about control not the system!

Which ever you choose to do, the dBDrag UK team are on hand to help you and take you through the measuring process. It’s not all about competition though, world class competitors are on hand to offer advice and assistance throughout the weekend. And when they aren’t giving advice, you can see top flight dBDrag cars creating serious Sound Pressure Levels!

Ironik Headline the Kiss Stage20 Apr

Mod Nats Kiss stage Sunday May 24th

‘Tiny Dancer (Hold Me Closer)’ is the brand new single currently at Number 3 in the UK singles chart, that sees Ironik team up with fellow grime star Chipmunk and the legendary Sir Elton John for an April 27th release.   Out via Asylum Records, the uber-catchy track which samples Elton John’s classic original showcases the melodic flows of Top 5 artist Ironik with 18-year-old rising star – Chipmunk who bagged a Mobo last year for Best Newcomer.  The result is eagerly anticipated and hailed on Radio 1‘s Switch as the:

 “Song of the summer” !!

Sir Elton John has only cleared two other samples for rap artists before:

“Tupac and Kanye West are two artists I’ve let sample my records – that says everything about how much I rate Ironik” says Sir Elton, adding:

“It’s good to be able to help young talent I believe in.”

A-listed at Radio 1, C-listed at 1Xtra and play listed at Kiss FM, the new arrangement of Sir Elton and Bernie Taupin’s cult-classic was possible only with access to the original ‘Tiny Dancer’ master tapes and Elton’s personal approval – an almost unprecedented honour which puts 21-year-old North Londoner Ironik, alongside his friend Chipmunk in exclusive and prestigious company.  In turn the two MCs have put a distinctly 2009 spin on the 1971 recording.

Last year Ironik’sStay With Me‘ stormed the UK Top 5 with minimal airplay going on to reside inside the Top 20 for nine weeks, heralding an entirely new mainstream sound and trail-blazing a path for his peers to follow…

Chipmunk, alongside artists such as Tinchy Stryder and N-Dubz has now followed Ironik’s lead into the mainstream.  Chipmunk’s effervescent ‘Chip Diddy Chip’ landed major media support and has become a hit on his own independent label.

Ironik’s album NO POINT IN WASTING TEARS followed hot on the heels of his debut single, ‘Stay With Me’ and is full of culturally relevant lyrical themes and sing-along choruses.  These two releases became a definitive moment in Black British music – the benchmark for what is now known as Post-Grime Pop (PGP): the brighter, bubblier, youthful sound of the British streets.

NO POINT IN WASTING TEARS draws a pool of talent from his friends in the scene including the central figures: ultra-hot MC Chipmunk; producer Bless Beats; rapper Tinchy Stryder; and “Godfather of Grime” Wiley; whilst also unearthing outstanding new vocal talents.

’Tiny Dancer (Hold Me Closer)’ follows a string of major hits from Asylum Records since the label re-launched last year – including smash hits from Wiley ‘Wearing My Rolex’, ‘Cash In My Pocket’ and Alesha Dixon ‘The Boy Does Nothing’, ‘Breathe Slow’ and LP ‘The Alesha Show’.

A message from Adam Rayner…Ring Master Extraordinaire03 Apr

adam.jpg ARRRRGHH! It’s going to be a Rayner Thing….

Hi Guys, thought I’d pop my fat face over the parapet in these here parts just to let you know that I’ll be at The Modified Nationals again this year, both as the Online Editor of all things Car Electronics on Talk Audio online magazine (That’d be here: www.talkaudio.co.uk) but also hired as a sort of meat-powered FM radio station for the Modded Nats.

I’ll be presenting the death-defying nuttiness on the live action arena and in consolation for not getting as close to the pretty girls as in previous years – the modeling contract contest is a Max Power thing this year and I’ve been a Fast Car boy for more years than I was with them, which kinda disqualifies me from being a Max P dude. (That and the pretty young things BEGGING The Organizers not to let me near them!)

Besides, last year some Scot came up to me and said “You are the Sleaziest Man Alive! I want to shake your hand!” in a thick Glaswegian accent.

In its place for my own perverted urges is something I am looking forward to presenting on the P.A. with huge delight. The BHP rolling road dyno test competition mayhem that is The Tower of Power©

I am going to be the Ringmaster Of The Horses, the Maitre D of the Stretched Cylinder, the Taskmaster of the Torque. This is Proper Grownup S##t.

I expect to smell clutch plate in the morning and see insanity in the owners’ eyes as they cough up their gearboxes in an effort to be the Winnah & Champeen of Tower of Power©

Imagine the Bragging Rights! No “Well, which tester was it?” piffle and all that, it’ll be whomever has the biggest and hairiest set of horses (you thought I was going to write Bollix didn’t you? Well I didn’t.) that wins it!

Take it out and measure it if you think you have the power!

I can’t wait!

Modified Nationals @ the Fast show24 Mar

 [SinglePic not found]

We were invited to take our Celica Promo car, Dragster and Promo girls to the Fast Show.  What a great weekend.  The weather was amazing and that helped remind everyone how great shows can be after last years show season wash out.

The attendance we are reliably informed was fantastic at 12,000, the sun shone, the girls managed without their coats for a while too, not bad in March.  We managed to fire-up the dragster and make a bit of noise and turned up the bass on the Celica to make a bit more…!!

Thanks to Santa Pod Raceway for the invite.

Modified Nationals @ Revenge Cruise.19 Mar

mod-nats-car-fast-car.jpg

March 14 2009
Saturday Night, Mark at our promo girls made the long drive in our Celica promo car from Doncaster where we are based to the Revenge Cruise in London.  They got a great spot and were joined by Fusion with their ground shaking Fiesta.

What a mental night! , it was the one of the biggest cruises they had been to for a long time, just like they used to be…… When he left after 11.30 pm, there were still cars queuing to get in to the car park.

Crazy Night – thanks to the organizer (you know who you are) for inviting us to come along.
